The HELP network (HELPnet) was started in 1989 as the first IUPUI production computer network for an academic unit. Since that time, HELPnet evolved and grew substantially into a series of technology services and resources that assist various organizations within the university to meet their technology goals. With its diverse customer portfolio that spanned the entire university, HELPnet provided technical assistance to units like the Kelley School of Business, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, The Dean of Students, Indiana University Police Department, Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, School of Liberal Arts, and many other organizations that vary in size and scope throughout the university. In January of 2010 HELPnet Technology Services merged in the Client Services and Support division with University Information Technology Services. After significant growth and service scope was realized, HELPnet was rebranded to UITS TechSelect in 2018.
The UITS TechSelect team has developed into a combination of professional and technical staff who has hundreds of years of cumulative experience in a wide array of technologies. These team members work with competence and expertise to support a variety of resources available to faculty and staff. UITS TechSelect regularly deploys new technologies to ensure a state of the art computing infrastructure that is flexible in order to meet the needs of our clients in a secure and easy to use environment.
